Eero Saarinen Furniture

Eero Saarinen studied sculpture in Paris and architecture at Yale before working on furniture design. Saarinan first received recognition for a chair designed together with Charles Eames for the "Organic Design in Home Furnishings" competition in 1940, for which he received 1st prize. The "Tulip Chair" became the basis of the seating used on the original Star Trek television series. The Womb Chair and Ottoman, Tulip Tables and Chairs are among Saarinen's most notable pieces.
